I had a crack in the gasket from the exhaust manifold to the cats.

I had an awful ticking that was just getting worse the more time went by. Not only that but i also had exhaust fumes in the cab, which i thought was a separate problem. I read that it could be leaking gas or bad gasket for the smell and a bad ejector(s), phaser(s), lifter lash adjuster(s) for the ticking. Wound up being 4 loose plugs, 3 really loose. Tightened them up and all is well.
