4.6 engine install

4.6 engine install
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get a 4.6 back into its correct position with the install. I have run into a wall. I have the engine in the engine bay but am finding it nearly impossible to get it back far enough to go into the tranny and back down into the mounts...it has fought me for two nights now. Any help will be appreciated. I am going to try again by loosening the tranny mount bolts to try and raise the tranny enough to allow the engine to slide back...I know now why the local garge wanted $1500 to remove and replace.

If the transmission is hanging down, the motor won't go back against it. Raise it until it's a little above where it sets normally. Then make sure the flywheel holes line up with the studs.

thanks...hopefully loosening the tranny mounting bolts will allow me raise it enough to get it in...unfortunately i haven't even been able to get it close enough to have to worry about the studs on the torque converter and the flywheel...I appreciate the info...
