Default 4.6 2v or 3v?? How to identify

Sorry for the noob question but how can I tell which one I have.

Based on your profile pic 3v


2v is 97-03 3v is 04 and up is the basic rule. For the 4.6 or 5.4

That's actually not true. I have an 05 4.6l that is a 2v. Easiest way to tell would be to see if you have VCT solenoids. 2v engines don't have them while the 3v do.

Actually 97-08 4.6L were all 2V. The option for 3V didn't come around until 09-10, then they did away with the engine.
