It's running real rough, feels like injection problems, i'm changing my spark plugs tomorrow.

it doesn't like to go into overdrive from 3rd when i punch it, doesn't do good up hill, kinda boggs out and runs real low rpms

Check engine light on??? Sounds like some of the fine Ford coils have gone bad.

Nope, no engine light.
It's kinda an on and off sorta thing too.
It loves to act up when a dudebro in his mustang gt pulls up and wants to go...

would switching from 93 to 81 back to 93 octane cause any problems?

No that shouldnt affect it. Hmmm I would check for codes anyway. Also find out if someone has the new Snap-On scanner It gives a misfire counter for Fords. See if its registering as a misfire. When was your last tuneup? Is there any oil or water in the spark plug holes? The 5.4 had a problem with the heater hoses leaking water into the plug holes causing misfires.
