Default How many miles on your 4.2

I'm new to the 4.2 engine and I'm wondering how many miles these engines are seeing.
I've just bought it a few weeks ago so I can't comment on what it has received in the way of work but I'd be interested to hear what others have had to do to theirs to keep them going.
Mine did have to have a head replaced before purchasing due to broken manifold studs from replacing a cracked exhaust manifold.
The dealer only got it half right since the connection to the downpipe started leaking about a weak later....but it's not that bad and I can live with it until the spring till I can fix it myself.

My truck is a 99 and has 243470 kilometers on it or 151285. miles

ive got an 02 f150 4.2 flareside..... bought it with 27k miles ...and it now has 144k on it.... never had any engine problems... i finally tuned it up at 122k... its got a cold air intake.. and ive always ran scaffers synthetic oil...and K&N oil filter.... since i have owned it and for about 5 years of its life it has pulled a trailor with a 3\4 ton chevy big block and 42inch tires(very heavy truck) every weekend all summer.. about 40 miles round trip.. some times up to 100 miles round trip...... engine still runs like brand new......
My 08 has 39k on it ...and i drive the balls off of it and mistreat it..i always run royal purple full race synth and K&N oil filter

i love both my 4.2... the 02 will smoke the 08... haha

I have 104K on my 1999 F150XLT and the engine runs like new. It has had rigorous care. I changed my oil over 2K miles ago and when I pull the dipstick to check it, it is still golden and smells like an engine with less than 20K miles. It also has not used any oil in the 2K miles.

mine uses about 1/2 qt between 3k oil changes but I'm not upset with that at all with 151k on mine - I'm hoping to get it up to about 225k before I part with it
