I have a 300 in my truck and was just wonderin if u guys know any cheap porfomance upgrades for it? I would like to bore it over but ant got that kinda money

Since you have the EFI head, a header,exhaust,ignition upgrades,bump the timing to 14 degrees BTDC.

And possibly some roller rockers,nowif you have to change the timing gears, go with the Cloyes set and advance the cam 4 degrees

what kinda exaust would sound the best? i was thinkin of putin a straight pipe on it cause one of my buddys did it to his 88' and it sounds pretty good but he has a cam in it though

So you want the angry bumblebee sound? An inline 6 does well with a single inlet/ single side outlet(stock looking) turbo muffler or a dual outlet out the side on a turbo muffler.

The header will make a deeper exhaust tone, but it will have some rasp so you might think about using a resonator or a glass pack to tone that rasp out.

I want this truck to sund as close to a v8 as possible..with this exaust do that? i also want it to be pretty loud! thanks for the advice so far also

Cam with a higher duration, header, resonator, Flowmaster single Inlet, Dual outlet would be your best bet.....But a inline 6 will not sound like a V8 no matter what you do. Having 2 cylinders less has a lot to do with it,and then being an inline also does as well.
