Any idea what the TSB # is or where I can find out what they are replacing? I have a 2011 and as most of you all know the issues with a rainy day traveling long distances and the limp mode issues when you go to accelerate quickly

The 2.7 is a direct injection engine, meaning the fuel is injected directly into the cylinders. This requires a high pressure mechanical fuel pump. They are noisy, more so on some then others. The 2.7, in my opinion falls in the middle of the pack as far as noise goes, that is why ford added noise cancelation to the sound system. When the windows are down they turn it off and so you get all the "glorious noise" of the engine.
If you are concerned go to the dealer and ask to compare it to another. If they are the same then you should be fine.

I'm new here to the F150 family after selling my Ranger. I purchased a new 2015 F150 Supercrew 2.7L TT Ecoboost. Coming form a V6 3.0L in the Ranger, I don't think I am used to the new sound of the Ecoboost. In fact, part of me thinks something is wrong.
I rolled the windows down for the first time for a night drive and accelerated quite quick getting up to around 4000rpms. (Spare my attempt at trying to describe the noise
) It sounded like a rattle-snake rattler and felt awkwardly loud compared to other vehicles on the road.
Hopefully one of y'all can help me out and give me comfort. Really don't want to take it to Ford only to be humiliated.

I also have a 2.7 ecoboost truck. It is quite noisy when the windows are down when accelerating. I wouldn't be too worried about it. As stated before, it uses a large cam driven mechanical fuel pump and a 3000 psi fuel system similar to the type of systems used in some diesels. You also may be hearing some slight detonation from using 87 octane gas. I get that when I use 87 sometimes, although using Shell gas makes it happen less. It won't hurt anything as the engine is designed to down tune itself to run on that swill. Try some 91 or 93 octane from a high end station like Shell and see if the sound goes away. If it keeps you up at night, take it in and ask the dealer about it. They're usually pretty good about answering questions, at least my local dealer has been. I came from a 98 F 150 so this thing has been a steep learning curve for me!

there's a tsb for the gas in the oil. Search it on here. Everyone that has reported back says no gas in oil any longer and more power. For the 3.5 ecoboost like you have.
