Default Tire size for 22's with rear shackle drop?

Going with 22 x 9.5 Black Rhino Mozambique wheels with a +30 offset. I'm having a hell of a time figuring out which size tire to run so that I have NO rubbing (no trimming either) all while filling out the wheel wells as much as possible. I have a Ground Force rear shackle drop installed, front is stock. Cannot decide between 285/45 or 305/40...i doubt I could sneak a 305/45 but. Tires I'm going with are the Toyo Proxes ST III. Unfortunately, custom wheel offset page doesn't have much for 22's on anything other than traditional leveling kits.

I'm open for any recommendations and if you have pics , please post.

Thx!

The 305/45 is 32.8” tall...I don’t see an issue with it on that wheel.
305/40 is 31.6....May look a bit short with no front drop.

Not really. I've looked up and compared the sizing enough times and have done rough measurements with my truck. My big issue is it's hard to pass the eye test just by looking at #'s. In grade school, I was the kid who hated novels if they didn't have pictures...

I'm running 305/40-22 tires with the same size/offset wheels on a 2wd with a 2/4 drop and I think it's the perfect size. If you've got an FX4 with just a 2'" shackle, you're still sitting almost as high as a stock 2wd in the back unless you also removed your blocks. I'd say you definitely need the 305/45 if you're not going any lower. Here's a pic of mine for reference... (the back looks a little lower than it is because my driveway slopes down a bit)

Damn I love the look of that. If not for living in MI and dealing with snow, I would've gone with a 2/4. If I removed the blocks as well, I would have pretty close to a reverse rake. Nice setup and thx for the advice!

Thanks, I quite like it as well! Honestly, this pic doesn't do it justice... in person and on level ground it looks even better. I'm occasionally tempted to drop it a little more, but the level of functionality begins to degrade rapidly beyond this point in my opinion.

Good luck with yours and be sure to share some pics when you get it done!

I ordered 305/40/22 which just got here today. I have a 2wd with a 2in shackle drop in the rear. Ill post up a pic when i get them mounted. I do plan to go with a 3/5.5 drop kit in the future though.
