Default Noob need some help!

Hey everyone. I presume to get ridiculed about my truck but I'm prepared. lol. I've got a 1998 XL cab 4.2L V6 2WD. The truck is my daily/work truck. And by work I mean a few very light things in the bed and towing a small 5x8 trailer. The trailer won't be towed once summer is over. Anyways. I'm looking to lower my truck as much as possible. I'm talking inches from the ground having to go over speed bumps at an angle. However I don't really know where to start off in buying parts. I don't have any experience with vehicle mechanics. Not much at least. I understand how things work but I've never actually gotten my hands covered in true grease yet. I'd prefer to install the parts with some friends. (I know a few people who actually do mechanic work that will help) but could someone please help point me in the right direction on what I need what I should get ect? Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. You may want to pm Tony who goes under the name of DJM/Belltech Direct. He's a supplier and installer, and may be able to help. He'll also tell you how low you can realistically go.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

That sounds pretty good. How much would it run me?

No clue. How would I go about checking? As far as I know the front has coil springs and the rear has leaf springs.

Already looked it up, doesn't look like you have Ibeams, I would look into spindles and coils up front and a flip kit and schackles set to 1 inch drop on the rear for a 4/6 drop. May need to notch the frame tho

Your truck looks amazing I must say. The price isn't as bad as I expected to be honest. It'll take a bit to save for it but I feel it's worth it. Thing is should I even put the money into a truck with about 213k?
