Default Need help please! driveline angles are making me insane!

Hello...
Well first things first, I have a 2013 f150 short bed crew cab.

I installed a 3/5 djm drop last weekend. Lower control arms up front and rear flip kit and 1in shackle in rear..

Now I put the same space gap on each side of axle between the upper and lower axle plates... I was getting high speed noise and also many were telling me my axle needs to point down some..
Soo I pointed the axle down all of djm adjustment. Pinion angle is now 2 degrees pointing down. Now I have bad low speed vibes and maybe still some high speed after 90mph vibes.

I'm spinning in circles I would like to adjust everything this weekend for hopefully the last time.

I am also moving my carrier bearing up about 1 inch by cutting out that metal bracket and bolting to cross member.

I have several angles

Okay I don't have the transmission axle hopefully someone would know factory spec unless that's changed no since I dropped it. Idk if that axle would change or not.

Okay the angles I do have are coming from trans to carrier bearing (first drive shaft) pointing down 5 degrees towards rear.
From carrier to rear end drive shaft 2 is 1 degree again pointing down to rear.

Pinion angle is 2 degrees pointing down. And rear end is actually like a tad better then 3 degree pointing down towards the front.

Does anyone know someone that may be able to point me in the right direction? Someone that's good with these angles and understands driveline can maybe break it down and tell me what I need to do and what angles I need to shoot for...

I really appreciate any help on this.
I'm going to be working on raising the carrier tomorrow

the diff need to be parallel with the first shaft.

According to your drawing: the diff should be 5deg with the front pointing up (it will change when you lift the center bearing carriere)

Hey Max pat thanks man...

Thanks that's what been throwing me off... I would say 10 out of 12 ppl recommend me to point it down... but since I did that it is worse.. djm even said point it down. And said replicate stock but hell stock it 4 degree up too..

Let me ask you this... should or do I have too do the carrier bearing.. I think so bc I think I was hearing something at high speeds but had no low speed vibs when my rear end was pointing up 4 degree

Soo big question is should I just adjust my rear end up 5 degrees * (which would be like puttinf shim in fat side towards front)( also i always hear and read fat side to rear)or do the carrier relocation and then match my first drive shaft with Rear end... thanks mann

I'm thinking if I move the carrier up and then match the rear end to the first drive shalf angle will be best... I remember hearing the smaller the angles the better... that will make the 5 degree smaller and then changing the rear end will make it parallel.

The amount of angle doesn't matter as much as making sure the transmission angle and rear diff angle are as close as possible to the same. Try and get them within .5 of a degree to each other. Example, front being 4.5 and rear being 5.0
Just try and keep them close to each other.

^^that's right for a 1piece driveshaft...not a 2piece!

on a 2 piece: the diff need to be the smae/close to the front shaft angle!

Move the carrier up and then adjust the diff.
I'ved had to to the carrier on my 07 Scab 6,5'bed and 2 piece driveshaft
with the carrier installed : here's what my djm adjustment looked like:

Adjustment must be done with the wheel on the ground (raise the truck by the diff and put stands under it.)

Work in progress...
Cut the carrier bracket.. now I'm going grind it flush, drill holes then paint it so it will not rust. Then replace it some metal stock. I have various sizes, going to start with 3/16 think.

Thanks for the help maxpat
