Default F150 problems

i have a 94 f150 with the 5.0 v8. last year (during the summer time) i had dual exaust put on it using one muffler that had dual outlets and the shop that did it took one of my catalytic converters off without my knowing. the truck seemed to run fine after that but about a month or two later it got to where it didnt want to crank and then when it would crank it would rev up to almost 1800rpms all by itself. the check engine light would flash while it was reving up but would never set a code. so i replaced the throttle positioning sensor thinking that was the problem. still didnt fix it. then replaced the ignition module, coil, spark plugs, plug wires, and also rebuilt the distributor.. nothing seemed to help.. well all this was taking place during the summer time, but when november came and it started getting cold weather the truck stopped acting up and ran as good as it always had.it puzzled me but i thought it was fixed so i just forgot about the problem. well this year around the last of july it started back doing the same stuff again..and im just puzzled about what the problem could be, anyone have any suggestions? could the problem be all because they took my catalytic converter off? if anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful to hear them! thank you.

I took one of my cats off of my 94 f150 about 15 years ago and never experienced a problem like that so I doubt that is the problem but I could be wrong.

Highly doubt the.converter is your problem. All a catalytic converter is is a filter so which means there are no moving parts in the converter to make your truck act up like that. I get alot of people saying they are loosing power due to a clogged converter 9 times outta 10 thats not the problem but backyard mechcanics always think they are right. My suggestion is take it to the dealer. Yeah people call em stealers but in reality they can fix the actual problem with out you having to go here and there getting different opinions and waisting time and money. Thats just my opinion.
