read and decide for yourself if the instructions are specific enough...

7. FINALIZING THE INSTALLATION
7a) All hardware being fastened to the vehicle’s original fastening points should be torqued to the proper specifications. To prevent chassis damage, never over-torque the hardware.
7b) Check brake hoses and other components for any possible interference.
7c) Lift the vehicle and remove the support stands. Carefully lower the vehicle to the ground.
7d) Immediately test-drive the vehicle in a remote location so that you can become accustomed to the revised driving characteristics and handling. Be aware that the vehicle will handle substantially different now that it has been modified.
7e) Installation is complete. Check all of the hardware and re-torque at intervals for the first 10, 100, 1000 miles.

so, it doesn't say to let it down and then torque.
But it does say to re-torque at certain intervals but not if it should be done up or down when you do it.

Anyone with half a brain and who decides to install suspension components on their vehicle should know you ALWAYS torque bolts to spec with the full weight of the vehicle on the suspension. Even if its to low to do it right, lower the vehicle onto a set of ramps, then torque. I am the type of person who searches and researches how to complete a task properly, therefore just reading one companies set of instructions is never enough for me.

bushing are made to turn... what is happening when the suspension cycle?...they turn!
torquing weight down..is good. but not mandatory.

balljoint couldn't care less if weight is down or not

There is a variance in what you are saying vs MFG instructions

I have a pair of these to go into my truck, with the failures in this thread I am hesitant to install them, to be brutally honest. I am not easy on my truck and need them to be stock durability or greater. If there is another manufacturer or solution, I am all ears.

Tony are they working on a fix for this? A thicker gauge? Better weld? This is crazy... I googled and found this happeneing to others also. This is a defect! I tow as many others do and I dont want to even think about what could happen going 65mph down the hiway or a around a exit ramp. Not to mention how many of us go to the track.

In over thousands of shocks sold since 2006 on the drop struts and only a handful this has happened to.... My main issue is fully torqueing the suspension with no load on it. I've installed many of these kits and have had yet one break on me like ive seen here in prob about 4 trucks?

I would say call belltech and talk to them because as of right now the design is the same on all the mounts
