I've got someone who wants to buy the kit. I'm really leaning towards the djm drop arms.

If you install them as per the recommendation, you will not have a problem. As mentioned, I cannot stress enough how important it is to torque the lower bolt with full weight on. If you don't, this will potentially be the result.

I have lowered 3 vehicles, a Focus, a Superduty and a Ranger and installed 2" shackles on my F150, all in my driveway and yes, I am smart enough to know you do not torque down suspension components until the weight of the vehicle is on the ground and there is no support from jack stands or jacks. Just seems to me the failures are becoming more frequent. I have only seen the 3 talked about here so far, but I suppose compared to the hundreds installed, thats a pretty low failure rate.

You can say what you want. I've been lowering, bagging, building one off sfbd frames for years now. I know it was installed correctly. I also know it failed with my family in the truck. I know for a fact it was done correct. The comments saying it needs to be torqued with weight means nothing about the failure because proper procedures were followed.

Damn, I've had mine on for over a year and didn't torque it with weight on. How are you supposed to fit with the truck on the ground?

Buy a good set of ramps, thats what I have. Drop the weight of the front tires on the ramps, and boom, same thing as being on the ground, then you have room to fit under and tighten. My Focus sub-frame was 4" off the ground and that was the solution I came up with.

I am with 1lowranger. He installed them correctly and people saying he didnt must not know what it is like to have loved ones with you in a vehicle when it fails do to a defect and not due to installing errors.....
