making a 2/4 drop a 3/4 drop
Just got a great deal on a mcgoughly 2/4 drop using the make offer option on ebay. I know im not going to be happy with only 2" in front I want a rake. Question is would it be possible to cut some of the coil to get an extra inch of drop? I know best option is to buy a set of adjustable struts and I may in the future but for now I really don't want to spend the extra couple hundred bucks.

Your lower control arms are bolted to the frame utilizing these slots front and back. It is what is used to adjust caster and camber. By elongating them it allows for more adjustment then the factory cut slots allow.
I used belltech struts on my 13 for a 3/4 drop and did not require to elongate the slots. I think it is just one of those things that you either have or have not do.

To elongate the holes yes they need to be removed. It is rather simple, but time consuming. I didn't need to elongate with the 2" drop springs, but I needed to drop the arms to get the struts in and out for fear of tearing a CV boot.

I couldn't tell you. Some ppl install and alignment is good, and some need to elongate holes.
I would install it and take it for an alignment. If it don't work then you know what you have to do, or some have had it aligned as best they could and rolled with it depending on how "out" it was.
