Lowering FX4
So I know I'm probably going to catch hell from everyone but first, hear me out. I want to lower my '06 FX4 on 22s. I love sport trucks and if I could have I would have bought a 2WD truck. But I live in Colorado and have a 74 mile round trip commute to work. My question is whether any one has done this or seen it done? Any pictures would be great. Also, I'm not too sure how low to go. I think I can only lower the truck 2/4 inches but I would consider something lower if I don't have to sacrifice too much ride quality.

well as far as the rear goes i think you can just take the blocks outta the rear and the will drop it 2 inches in the back and will be pretty cheap just need new ubolts

I'm not sure about lowering...there might be an issue with the length difference of the front drivetrain when lowered. Lowering is not my thing but needin 4wd is totally understandable dude..

Go the shackle route in the rear. If you remove the blocks you lose the bump stop tabs and may collapse the shocks. Don't forget to see if the shocks will allow lowering or if shorter ones will be needed.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I did a bit of research and found lowering kits by Belltech, DJM and McGoughys. I'm leaning towards the Mcgoughys kit more than anything. It is a 2/4 inch drop that consists of coils in the front and shackles and hangers in the rear.
