Default Loweder 4x4's

Lets sem guys... mine still has more rice to get rid of but I'll start this party.

bought her like this:

took of the vinyls, pulled the rear springs and decranked the front. My fenders well to floor is about 34.5 Also took some wing action off the cab.

coming soon, its the removal of te bug shield, some black painting, and maybe some gloss black fix ups. Also once the green light from the old lady comes, Tony is going to be sending a competey 3/4 that I am going to play with and see if I cant get a bit more out it.

My 02 4X4 project just got a shot in the arm. Ordered the 4 link now I gotta see which coilovers and springs I need. May put them in the front and remove the t-bars. Now to figure out what I want in shocks to. Some are adjustable and some are not.

do you know what the difference between the 04 and our years fronts are beside the t-bars? those can drop like crazy, we need to settle for 3 or get creative.

Not exactly but I know the factory has gone to a coilover type on the front shocks and different placement on the rears for better control.

I'll keep you posted as I find out. Please keep me in mind as learn more about yours. 3/4 looks good, but 4/6 looks killer on these trucks.

If ya want a bit lower with the torsion bar setups. Chevy keys wil give you a few more inches. And a few guys claim swapping the keys hand over hand (how they explained it at least) gave alittle bit more drop up front.

You can buy those keys made for lowering.

yeah, the 3/4 kit I was talking to Tony about was the lowering keys. I'm sure I'll end going that route if I cant solve the riddle of geometry. Right now my question is sizing and specs on a 04-08 LCA vs one off say my truck LOL I could go djm lca's and springs to get where I want to go from there.

@madness, I had wondered about that. I know the chev guys use ford key to cet a little more height while cranking. I wanted to know if the ford guys went to chev keys to decrank a bit more.
