Default 2.5 degree shims

If anyone is curious I called Beltech before installing the shims and they said tall side forward for my application which is 2" drop shackles. So I did the install and still had vibration. Boy was I pissed. So I reversed them tall side to the rear of the truck and I'd say 95% of the vibration has been cured. I think that is good. I also have the drop coils installed in the front set at 2" drop and am going to raise the front back up to level maybe that will cure the rest of the vibration and also soften the ride just a hair. My rim tire is 305 45 22, and had to do some small trimming on the fender liners. Truck is 2011 2wd crew cab

I have a 2014 SCREW that I just ordered the BellTech drop shackles and shims.

I was looking at the instructions on line (http://www.belltech.com/extras/docs/BBGC/6700.pdf) and it shows that the shackles get installed in the opposite direction from the OEM shackles (OEM has open part to the back, Belltech shows open part to the front). Is that correct?

Also it references having to modify the seam under the bed, did you do that?

You should definitely follow the instructions. I believe all of the drop shackles go with the open end forward so the spring won't hit the center web on the shackle. I had the G/F 2" drop shackles in my 2010 before I went to the 2/4 drop. The OEM shackles in my truck were installed with the open side facing forward, opposite of what is shown in the factory service manual. Same with a friends 2013, so I'm not sure they're real picky at the factory about which way they install the OEM shackles.

As for the seam on the bed, I had plenty of clearance to the shackle on mine although the instructions called for bending the seam over if need be. This may vary from truck to truck and you may not have an issue, I didn't.
