To have a vehicle lowered correctly, so that your are not destroying other suspension components, will be fairly expensive. If you are going more than a 1.5" drop you will probably need new knuckles, control arms, and springs. If not done right you will also burn through tires very quickly, not be able to align right, and it would just be an unsafe vehicle. In my younger days I had done it on the cheap and it was nothing but problems. I eventually end up spending more on repairs/replacement than if it was just done right in the first place. Any suspension/tire shop should be able to give you all the info you need. Also a site like Tirerack.com could probably help you get parts pricing over the phone.

lol @not being alignable lets not turn this into a "why would u lower a 2wd truck blah blah blah blah" DJM suspension and McGaughtys drop knuckles get my vote. i dont see you having ANY problems with a 2/4 drop on 22s.

if it was me i would do you drop and then find a good tire shop that has alot of tires in stock, that can test fit some for you. usually if you are buying a whole set they will charge you nothing. 2/4 drop on 22's would be fine.

won't align it, what a dink

2/4 drop on 22's will be fine. I have a couple of buddies that have new bodystyle 150's and one has 23's and the other 22's and they haven't had any problems.

Sounds like dnlow did some hack job ass stuff when he was younger and now is the spokesperson for why someone shouldn't lower their vehicle...

That's what I was thinking. Mine has been lowered for 5 years with no issues and on the same tires. ????

You could easily go with a 3/5 drop and still run a decent size tire without any issues. The girl friends is lowered 4/5 and after we took a little off of the tie rod ends and got the toe correct we havn't had any issues what so ever.

Lets not start the 4x4 vs. 2x4 debate, unless you done have something to add related directly to the original post, don't post it here, haha.
