Default Harley's installed, ride height question....

Picked up a set of 22" Harley's on the cheap. 2011 2x4 XL, Never noticed how high my truck sits when it had stock wheels. Today I parked next to my buddy's 13 4x4 lariat and measured both next to each other. His front measures same as mine and his rear is just about 1" higher his 275/55/20 mines 275/45/22. Is it possible mine has some sort of level in the front???? Again mines 2wd XL.

Did you have the 265/60/18 tires on previously? They measure 30.5 tall and the new ones you have should be 32 tall. That would account for the height difference.

I get that. But shouldn't a 2wd sit lower than a 4x4 even with same size tires? I thought that was true for all trucks. Thought they had different suspension or spring rates.

Should be 1" lower in the front and 1" in the rear. I own a FX2 and looking at the side profile your front does look higher. Maybe you have the 4wd shocks/springs installed.

It may be in my head but the fx2 look much lower than a normal 2wd. I could be wrong though. I have a gmc work truck 2wd and it sits as high as my fx4 did before I dropped it.

My Harley wheels have the stock size tire on them. They were the same as the stock fx4 18s diameter wise.

The 2wd comes with 265/60/18 and the 4x4 is 275/65/18 I think.

Try and go to a really level surface, like an underground parking lot and then take measurements from ground to center of wheel wells. That should give us some answers.

If you had 18s before and went to 22s , you automatically raised your truck 2 " if the tire height are the same . The two inches comes from half the difference in rim size. .. That is relevant because the change that you are noticing is because the distance from lugs to rim is so much greater.

Maybe the reason 2wds sit lower is because the tires are an inch smaller? Then when you put equivalent tire size on they are same height as 4x4?
