picked up my new '12 supercrew 5.0 saturday and of course i want to lower it. but i am at a delima. this truck is brand new with less than 300 miles on it and the thought of tearing the suspension apart right now scares the hell out of me. i have researched most all of the kits out there and i don't want it slammed but i definetely want to be able to tell it's been lowered. i plan to run 20's on it as well with stock height 275/55/20 tires on it.

there is a local truck accessories place that uses the groundforce kit and warranties "their" work but it's a little pricey, $1480 out the door. i am in north carolina and although there aren't that many places that do this stuff, that seems high to me. i just wonder about the quality of the GF kit versus Belltech or DJM or any of the others? i do like the fact that the GF kit replaces the rear leafs and doesn't use a flip kit, as i will be towing with this truck.

throw out some opinions, pics, ideas, places to have work done, etc...

I installed the ground force kit on my 2012 screw 2wd, The ride is like stock up front the rear its kinda bouncy even with the ground force shocks, I am going to try the belltech front performance struts and the rear lowered belltech performance shocks. I didnt want to do the flip kit either (just my preference not to run the leafs under the axle) but by the looks of it I am starting to think thats the direction I should have taken. Oh well live and learn. I will give you an update on the shock install to see if it rides better I have a feeling it will.

I have an 2005 2wd Flareside with the GroundForce 2/4 drop. Me and my friend did it ourselves took about 6 hours. The kit was complete and with new leaf springs definitely worth it. I bought mine for about 1200. Mine is stiff but I also added a Hellwig rear bar to mine but my truck rides really firm and I love it!!!

We had these kits for a limited time. Our customers did not seem to care for it much. From personal experiences with fullsize trucks, leaf springs are NOT the way to go. The ride quality is not very good and the tow capacity is decreased. Groundforce shocks were nothing impressive. I would recommend to everyone with a lowered truck regardless of the lowering kit to add a set of Belltech Street Performance shocks to their truck.

12supercrew....... make a purchase yet?? was curious what way you went and some feedback.. I am tossing options up with GF 2/4 as one... #2 on list next to Belltech set up.

TheSuspensionSource (Kris I take it?).....I am still Leaning toward the Belltech strut 1" drop in front and 2" shackle with shocks in rear.... however, quesiton. After talking to your guy here in Fresno he brought up the Belltech/KW set up. I also saw the DJM/Belltech Direct guy on here recommend it a few times. Can you clarify some things for me. 1.... is the ride quality really that much better for the price, especially compared to stock. 2.... I assume the front coilover spring/strut set up is adjustable also. And my confusion is with the rear... still put the rear 2" drop shackle and the KW shock. He said the rear shocks were adjustable? for what ??? height or ride quality/performance? Thanks again.

According to Belltech the rear shocks are adjustable. The coilover kit is indeed very nice and comfortable. Teamed up with the 2" shackle that will be a kick *** setup for your needs.

If you are trying to save a few bucks the struts are still NOT a bad idea!

I've been running DJM springs, shackles and hangers for over 7 years and they've been great. I love my Belltech shocks, best shocks I've found so far.

ive been doing a lot of the kits with djm rear flip (pinion angle easy to adjust) with the belltech shocks its a great set up ride wise. I deal a lot with belltech and djm and just testing over the years and dealing with both products you dial in what the perfect combo is pretty much. its easy to sell kits but installing them you learn a lot
