I spoke with a guy who can get me a 3"/5" drop but it would only be springs and shocks. I became worried and began to question how badly springs and shocks would affect ride comfort.
I understand that dropping that much will hinder my comfort somewhat. I accept that. I just want to ask what is the best procedure for saving ride quality. I don't know all the different parts that go into dropping a truck and I have noticed there are several different things that can be used. Outside of shocks springs and shackles... What else is there? And which ones will save some ride quality?

I think you should be okay at 3/5. Just make sure you replace the shocks and to purchase a quality kit. I think McGaughy's is making kits for the 2009-10's.
Make sure you purchase a high quality lowered shock, it makes a world of difference!
Oh yeah, ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Not sure about the new bodystyles yet, but I've had good luck out of my Belltechs. I started using the Nitro 2's back in January and they ride great! You may also look into Bilstein as well. I'd say a Belltech Nitro 2 or the Belltech Street Performance.

also when u go w/ a 3" drop up front w/ just springs, its cheaper but w/o the lower control arms u run into camber issues which = alot faster inside tire wear. just my 2 pennies
If you are wanting to keep a factory ride somewhat go with like DJM control arms and a Belltech or MCG flip kit out back should ride pretty close to stock. I know my GM did. The GFs truck is running Belltech 3" drop coil with a Belltech adjustable lowering strut up front and it rides pretty decent her drop is set at 4" right now and we only had to trim the ends of the tie rods to allow them to go in further to set the toe properly and have a little camber issue but i have to crawl under and grind out the lower control arm holes on the frame to let them move in more.
i have a 2" spring lowering kit in front with a 3" lowering leaf spring plus 2" shackles on my 2004 f150 super cab. I want to order a set of bilsteins...i really need a part number because no one seems to know what to put on it. some people have said to replace with shock with stock size . i want something made for this application or at least sized to provide the best. performance and not have a bumpy or stiff ride. yhanks allot.
The best shock out right now is probably the new belltech. Everyone I know that is running them loves them. I plan on buying some this summer when I go a little lower!
