Default Belltech dropshocks on OE cut springs??

My OE springs have been cut for a 2in drop. The ride is fine but I want a 3in drop. Cant I just buy the dropshocks to get the 3in drop? Some say I "have" to buy new OE springs. Others say I "have" to buy 2in springs plus dropshocks.

set the struts at a 1 inch drop you will be fine just be aware the spring will be very loose with no weight on the struts ie they might not have enough tension to prevent the floating when the truck is jacked up off the ground.

Hey, thanks Tony for the input. Just wanted to know all my options.
Think I'll just get the springs as well to be safe.
