2014 4x4 lowering kit questions
#11
I have a 2011 4x4 dropped on 22s. Belltech struts up front and flip kit on the rear with slam bags. I have a small tank and a small Thomas compressor with a switch and gauge mounted in the console. The front is about 4" it says 3.5" with no spacers. You have to trim the lower plate the spring sets on without spacers otherwise the plate hits the cv shaft. 1 spacer would clear but I wanted it as low as I could get it. The rear has a 5" flip kit. Without the bags it was real close and would bottom out if loaded or hitting large bumps I'm sure. The rear also sat about 1" lower than the front so the bags were a must for me. They went on the same day I lowered it. It's been done almost 3 years and about 20,000 miles ago. I have Harley 22s powder coated black. I can't remember my tire size at the moment. It handles awesome. It's an eco and it's a blast to put in 4wd, build some boost, and smoke a Honda here and there. I've driven threw snow deep enough to push with my front bumper, pulled my skid loader, pulled my car trailer 1/2 way across the us and back. The only real down fall is the transfer case hangs way low. I've been driving lowered and bagged trucks for 10+ years so I was used to the adjustment. I removed all the badges so other than my custom license plate know one would ever guess it's not a dropped 2wd. I got a new phone last week so I have no pics on my new one. I'll see if I can get some cv shots, truck shots and tire sizes.

Center console bracket with dual needle gauge and manual valve
It's hard to see in the pics but the lower plate the spring sits on has been cut to clear the cv shaft
Compressor, water trap, quick connect, and tank
Slam bag

Thank you very much low ranger. I appreciate all the pics. It answers a lot of my concerns now. Do your CV axles go up at a slight angle to plug into the front disc?

Ya there is a little bit of angle. I was concerned at first but I've kept an eye on it and it's never been an issue. No clunks or vibrations goon in and out of 4wd.

so those are belltech struts with stock springs in the front?
I made the mistake of putting the drop struts and drop springs together with no spacers.... too much drop. I have the 2 inch struts and 2 inch springs but I put 3 of the big spacers in it. It's like a 3.5 inch drop in the front.
