Default Help needed on recent acqistion Lowered 2006 F150

I recently punched a 2006 F150 Harley Davidson edition AWD/4X4. It came with Maxtrac 2" lowering springs and 2/4" lowering shackles. The previous owner neglected to change the 85K old shocks and it's ride was bouncy and uncomfortable. The wheels are stock 22" with new Pirelli Scorpion tires (35psi). Following Maxtrac's recommendation I bought their rear shocks and replaced the fronts with Bilstein 4100 series. I had the alignment done at the time of replacement (it required the camber bolt kit to bring it to spec). After all this pain and expense the ride is only marginally better.

I understand that this will never ride nor handle like my old lower VW R32 or my Land Rover LR3; but I think I may be missing something as this is the first pickup truck I have owned.

All analysis and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't like lowering springs myself. I have the Belltech drop struts and cant tell the difference in ride quality. However, its your first truck ,it might be just that...they ride nothing like SUV's or cars period lowered or not.

I suspect some of what I am experiencing could be an unfamiliarity factor, especially considering I just came out of a Land Rover. I have driven trucks occasionally over the years, but this is the first one I have owned. Thanks again, Gypsy Pavin.

if the stock shocks are on the rear they are to long and ride deos suffer. In front springs kill oem shocks fast been down this road many times on these trucks. if you change to the belltech sp shocks all around will ride nice and rear is shorter for the 4 inch kit

total for all 4 shocks shipped is 305 to your door.

ANy questions just ask

Tony
