There is a question I always ask myself: Worth the dropped a truck to increase the control and management in general? Taking into account as potential negatives that may have uneven wear of the tires, alignment problems, etc.. To all those who have lowered their truck, they can bring?. Thank you.

You should always be able to align the truck. Parts are designed to maintain factory alignment specs. You will certainly have an increase handling potential by bringing the weight down lower then stock.


Many guys add a rear sway bar if lowering is geared toward handling and not just looks.

Also you say "worth" as in you loose with a lowered truck?


The only thing you loose is the ability to go over rough terrain that has holes or mounds taller then 4-6 inches. A mild drop will do anything and everything a stock truck would do. You can still haul and tow anything you want and again any "off roading" most people would do will not be effected by a mild drop.


By mild I am talking 4/6 or less. With 4/6 potentially starting to effect your drive over speed bumps. Not that you can't clear them but you need to slow down slightly so you don't slam the frame on the bump.

agree with custm on most points.
my '11 4x4 has a 2/3 drop, rear sway, and 305- 23" wheels (Nitto's).
0 issues treating it like a truck, and it handles corners and "spirited" driving that would make my factory set-up blush...

Already decided that I will buy ". DJM I'll go with a 2" Front Struts Belltech 25001, Rear shocks Street Performance 2213EE and kit Flip 4 front who will actually be 3 "and back, 4" and will see how the pinion angle is, as I already have rear sway bar, then installed the front sway bar.

Should look good and still be plenty of "truck" for you.
