Hi I need a computer for my truck. It is the skinny one on the drivers side firewall closest to the fender. It is 3 bolts to get it loose. Then is pulls into the engine bay and is free.
The model I am looking for is f4tf-12a650-SB. This is written on the computer after you pull it out. It will be for a 5.8L automatic.
Thanks,
Kevin

Bad PCM/ EEC is common
Thanks for checking Fordka. I will keep looking or try to get my neighbor repair mine.
Meski. I can tell you I know quite a few people that have bad pcm's for these trucks. If you have a truck with several problems and is more than 20 years old, there is a high chance it is the eec. The 3 vertical capacitors bust and short several electrical paths as well as burning through one of their legs. It is a pita when it is your last item you checked, but repairing or replacing it can save a lot of headaches when it comes to hunting down a problem. As far a "lifetime of the vehicle", I think that is seldom the case. It is at least worth a look if you are have a bunch of problems, due to the fact they are so easy to remove.
Here is a pic of mine. 1994 w/ 125k . @ capacitors only have 1 leg and bad leaks. The other has leaked only a little but is on the way out.
