Default 1996 f-150 xlt 4x4 5.8L

Listed on ebay , item number 291172950346. Reserve is at 8400.

Hi, Im selling my 1996 f150 4x4. This truck is in beautiful shape given its age. It spend most all of its life in Washington state so the body is rust free and near perfect. I purchased this truck a few years ago and had it imported to Canada with plans of modifying the engine/ drivetrain but this truck is in such nice shape that I cant bring myself to alter it. It has just under 81,000 original miles on it and with the exception of about 3 miles of gravel its all pavement miles and it shows. This truck is much tighter and nicer driving than my daily driver which is a 2008 f150 with 60,000 miles. No rattles inside or out. All original untouched except for the trailer hitch and brake controller which were both installed at the dealer when the truck was new.

This truck is equipped with the 5.8L V8 which is the last year that it was available in a f150, '96 was also the only year that the 5.8 had both mas-air intake as opposed to the old speed density system and also the hydraulic roller camshaft. The engine runs like new, no leaks and is very clean. Automatic trans, pushbutton 4 wheel drive and the factory auto-locking front hubs. The interior is graphite grey and is in near perfect condition, no cracks rattles or squeaks, the floor is clean and the seat is like new with the exception of one small spot on the driver side where it appears that the former owner must have worn jeans with rivets on them and it wore a small spot on the seat about 3/8s of an inch in diameter (its somewhat visible on one of the photos)

As previously mentioned this truck was undercoated when new, the body is totally rust free, strait as an arrow, and the paint shows that this truck was always parked inside. The only places where there is any rust is on the surface of the differentials, drive shafts, exhaust pipes and some small spots on the frame rails. I believe it would take very little effort to clean these spots up and touch then up with some frame paint.

Since I bought this truck it has spent all of its time stored indoors, I take it out a couple times a summer to run it up to temp and run it through all the gears. Unfortunately because the keys on these truck don't have an electronic chip in them, the province of Manitoba feels it would be necessary for me to install an automotive immobilizer system on this truck before they would let me insure it as a daily driver and I have refused to let some garage that I don't know splice all kinds of wiring into the factory harness and more than likely cause all kinds of headaches.

There are a few small flaws that I feel I should mention. The first is the windshield must have had a stone chip at one time and was repaired but you can still see where the ship was, second is the small worn spot on the seat that I mentioned earlier and the third is where box shell rear door meets the tailgate. The rubber weather stripping of the box shell has rubbed on the paint and wore a strip of paint along the top of the tail gate. Ive gotten a quote from a reputable paint shop to repair the paint and install a strip of chafe guard which would cost around $110. Ive included a photo of what Im detailing here.

This truck passed the safety inspection with flying colors and has drove less than 100 miles since. I know the price that Im wanting is a bit high but this truck is in exceptional shape and its getting really hard to find this body style of f150 in any kind of decent shape anymore, especially with the 5.8 engine and xlt trim and options.

I can supply a bunch more photos if interested just let me know

The results of the following ebay item numbers might suggest otherwise 221498156181, 191225605794 or 291172950346 (and these were all in the passed 30 days). But then again everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

Beautiful looking truck had a white 96' myself but with a slant six. There's a ton of pre 1997 Ford Pickups in the U.S. which put the stock ones to shame here in Canada. Half the fun in owning a Ford is finding it in great shape for a great price. Good luck

Talking great mileage

The price may be a little high, but I don't think its extreme. I think the major difference here is some people would prefer a brand new looking vehicle, and some would rather have paint damage, or rips in the interior so you get a better price.(me)
I bought my 1995 f150 XLT w/ 5.8 for $2500. But it looks beaten up compared to this one...not to mention its mileage exempt and the ODO reads 203xxx... lol
I'm sure there is someone that would like to buy a 20yr old truck with less than 100k. my 05 Nissan has more than that lol

Not in the market, but if the truck is as nice as it looks in the picture, that's a reasonable price. I'd stick to your guns on it. The average truck around here (S Ont.) would need 5000 in bodywork to get it looking like that.
