1987 F-150 (Northern Virginia)
1987 Ford F-150, 4.9 liter L6 engine, 4 speed manual transmission, 2wd
The odometer shows 74,229.
Here's the deal: the engine runs, but is missing in 1 or 2 cylinders. I've spent a modest amount of money and A LOT of time trying to fix the problem, but I failed. I don't have the tools or the time, so it needs to go to a better home. It's too good for the junk yard.
I have more pics and I can write pages about the 12 years I've owned this truck. Just ask here and I'll answer all questions.
Details:
The Good:
-Since this truck is over 25 years old, it no longer needs emissions testing.
-The wheel arches have no rust.
-new parts this year: spark plugs, plug wires, valve cover gasket
-new parts last year: water pump, radiator hoses
-tires have lots of tread
-new parts in 2003: radiator, front windshield, brakes (all)
-new parts (I can't remember when): alternator, battery, muffler & tail pipe
-I have the original full wheel covers
-still has the original jack, jack handle, and lug wrench
The Bad:
-engine runs rough
-bottom corners of the cab have rust holes
-head liner is gone
-radio doesn't work
-no A/C
-tailgate latch is gone
-rear gas tank has bad gas
Asking $1100, but any offer considered.

PRICE DROP... now $800
I recently found out the truck is blowing oil smoke, so I assume it needs valve guides.
This truck needs a good home. It's too nice to send to the junk yard!
