Update: did the mod, works great, brought more life back to my beast.

Nice. Cheapest mod I've ever done. Took about 1/2" droop out of the pedal.

I opted for a new cable..22 bucks

Yea, this isn't considered a mod, - a cheap *** riggin is more like it.

Wow, 1-2" of stretch??? Just measured mine, I see ~3/8" of cable when I lift the pedal vs when pedal is at rest. So not bad at all I guess for my situation. But geez if folks are seeing 1" that would be a lot of travel in the pedal!

Bicycle brakes/shifters have adjustable barrel connectors where you can adjust the cable length a little bit to tighten/loosen the slack in the cable. Bascially does same thing as teh zip tie mod. I don't know how bicycle cable compares to ford, but bicycle cables definitely stretch when first installed.

Just did my truck. It only took one zip tie so not a ton of difference in throttle response.
