She's definitely built Ford Tough!

That's pretty cool! I dig names with a little history behind them. I named my 1985 Dodge Diplomat "The Gray Ghost" after the Civil War Colonel. I first saw the logo Gray Ghost on a friend's 200hp Mariner outboard motor. After some research into the reference, I thought the Colonel's story was cool.

The car's color was "Gunmetal Blue" which is like a bluish grey. It had smoked windows, fog lamps, a CB whip on the trunk, whitewalls turned in, and hubcaps off a 1987 Ford Truck, the kind that looked like mags. Working Security at the time, when I was in traffic people thought it was a police ghost car.

So the name was appropriate.

Yikes! If there's any consolation, at least you're going AGAINST the traffic! At least you're in a great neighborhood that didn't lose most of it's property value!

Col. John Mosby was a hell of a leader and tactician. By coincidence, The Gray Ghost could also be associated with the USS Enterprise (CV-6), which was Halsey's flagship, and like the Warspite, was the most decorated ship in World War 2. Sadly, both ships were scrapped (Warspite in 1947, and Enterprise in 1959). After these losses, more attention was given to preserving some of the ones that were left (like the Lexington, Yorktown, Alabama, North Carolina, Texas (the oldest)). So, you christened your ride wisely!

Sadly my truck got the nickname around the house of baby bear by my mom. My dad has a 2003 f250 fx4 XLT with the 7.3 and she calls it papa bear. Mine is a 2003 f150 fx4 lariat with the 5.4. Don't have a good pic of them together
