x-case weight?
Anyone know how much they weigh (w/residual fluid)? I'm one bolt away from pulling mine. Will it be necc. to use my tranny jack? It is currently be used to support the tranny (i needed to pull the x-member to allow for MUCH needed room). If it's in the 75-100 lb range, I should be able to get it fairly easily. Oh, one more thing....I assume it is not flanged to the trans, i.e., the output of the trans goes into the x-case, correct? I'm gonna call it a night. Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks in advance. Buenos noches.

actually, I had originally removed it to get my fat hands, arms, and fingers into the tight spots. But, in later findings, I ended up jacking the trans back up, putting the x-member back in, and now, the jack is back under the x-case. Which reminds me....Where would be a good place to mount the jack under the case? I have a cheap jack that I got at Harbor Freight, it has these massive ears on the sides of the base for the straps. It's making it very difficult to place the jack without removing/cutting out a chunk of the exhaust. Honestly, the exhaust it 10 yrs old. I would rather just cut out a chunk and replace it with flex-tube, than try and hassle with permanently bonded(rusted) fastners.
