Worn out oil drain plug bolt on F150
I just got my F 150 a couple of weeks ago.
I went to change the oil and to my horror, the drain bolt was not only almost stripped round, it was super over tightened.
I tried everything, could not get the thing loose to change the oil.
A friend told me to go Sears and buy a 14-19MM bolt out kit and I did. The kit was on sale for $ 14.95. I hammered the 15MM bolt out on the oil drain plug, gave the wrench a couple of wacks with the hammer and it came loose. I bought a new plug at the auto store and now I am good to go.
I am telling you, the Craftsman bolt out worked for me when nothing else did including the Gator grip.
Why do people over tighten things? Why?
