Unhappy Wiper control module

Does anyone have any information on the wiper control module for a 1997 f150? I think it is located near the glove box, I am wondering how do I test it, and it is different from the wiper relay, correct??

Controlled by the GEM, behind the fuse panel under the dash on drivers side.
