Wow.......... The new truck has some electrical issues. I am angry because when the rain started yesterday afternoon the wipers wouldnt work. I've checked the fuse and its good. The other day this happened and I checked the fuses all was well I pulled the fuse and put it back and shazaam it worked. Now when I need it nothing..... Does any body know of any wiring or lever problems with the wiper actuation? Do I have to tear the whole console out to check the switch? Please help, has this happened to anybody yet?

None to my immediate knowledge but if a new truck suggest the dealer take a look at it since should be under warranty, could be a short somewhere.....I don't mess with anything electrical but there's a few more electric inclined individuals on here, trustingly somebody can offer a option other then the dealer....

sorry this truck is new to me but it is a 2000.

If it works intermittently it could be a relay. Find the one for the wiper motor and try replacing with a nother one and see if they work. Look in the fuse box under the hood. Relays stick some times and by pulling the fuse maybe you unstuck it.

shazaam worked once, this time pull the fuse and spray elect cleaner in the holder and exchange the fuse. Thinking dirty connection. Also like the suggestion of a bad relay. They have a habit of not making an electrical contact even if they click. With electrical and especially if test equipment is not an option, start with the easy stuff

I replaced the fuse and it worked again for a bit, but I still have all the same intermitent problems. I'm thinkiing maybe even the lever assembley. Any body know where I can get a cheaper lever than the $162.00 one from the dealer?

Lots of guys try the local wrecking yards. Most ford parts have engineering numbers etched or inked on them. Just match up and go for it. Posibility of two switches with same problem, slim to none. When times are tough we have to keep the float, boating. Oops, to many beers, keep the boat floating.

May check some of the online favorites - like rockauto.com or lmctruck.com -- be sure to understand the shipping costs - some are rather proud of their 'mailing' abilities.

Suggest to slap a voltmeter on the connector to the motor - try to divide-and-conquer whether it is a 'signal' problem to the motor, or the motor itself.

try hotwiring the wiper motor and see if it works, if the motor is fine. replace the relay, but im betting the multifunction switch, they are notorious on fords.

wipers won't work in the morning when its around 60 degrees then when it warms up they work on 2002 f 150
