'97 F150 keeps dying.
Just finished a 600 mile trip. During the trip my engine light came on and the engine hesitated. I pulled the code and it said my #1 cylinder missed. I decided to change the plugs and wires since it had been a long time. After changing only the wires and plugs, now the engine stalls when given gas from an idle. I took the new wires off and reinstalled my old ones. I also removed the new plugs and replaced with another set of new plugs. Nothing changed. Now I can't drive the truck since giving it gas from idle will kill the engine. I did nothing else while changing plugs and wires. Everything is hooked up. The only thing that is different are the new plugs. These plugs are the new iridium type as well as the new set that I had replaced. I can replace the old plugs that I still have but do not see how this could be a problem.
When idling, the engine runs very smooth with no missing. Only when giving gas does it die. Sometimes I can keep it running but have to keep my foot on the throttle to keep it from dying. When driving on the highway I notice that the RPM cuts in and out a little and drops about 100 - 200 and runs rough. I did double check to see that the wires are installed properly, I replaced them one at a time to make sure I did not mess this up.
I did nothing else at this time, I only replaced the plugs and wires. Wires are back to original and new plugs. Any ideas would be helpful and thanks.

Check the MAF also, make sure it\s clean, and the connection is good.
