winch mount bumper.... heavy duty bumper
I tried to mount my winch on the lower area of my frame and it will not work with what I have. I would like it to go on the inside of the bumper but I do not want to spend the $200 on the Warren winch mount. I already bought a winch plate but its too small. I'm looking for a custom bumper used at a good price if anybody out there has a bumper they are removing from the truck I have a 1998 Ford F 150 extended cab 4x4. Any help would be great I'm looking to pay 200 or less I have found them new for six to eight hundred so I figure 200 should be fair.
Thanks

Good luck. If by chance someone has a bumper capable of what you're asking, within reasonable distance, you'll be hard pressed to get it for $200 or less.

Your going to have to build the plate or buy the WARN...winch plate.

I'm looking into something similar. What I plan to do is install a multi-fit Reese hitch up front. If you install it upside down there are no issues. It will put the opening just below the chrome on the bumper. From there just install your winch on a receiver mount. This way you can apply a quick connect on the front and rear. So you can use your winch on either end. Reese multi-fit runs about 125.

I've run a winch in a cradle, it turns out to be a giant pain in the butt. Great big winch and cradle in the middle of your cargo area eating up space, and then when you do use it you're mostly limited to straight pulls where half the time when I'm winching it's at least at a 45. And how often do you absolutely have to have a winch on the back of your truck anyway? It sounds neat in theory, but in practice I prefer to stick it in front where it belongs and carry a hilift and chains just in case.
I too would like to see this $800 winch bumper. I was set on the Warn plate too, but I wouldn't mind a plate bumper in front if the price was right.
