Default Will it work??

If i unbolted the cats and ypipe off the manifolds of a 05-08 f150, will it bolt up to my f150's manifolds? Found some low mileage and itll be cheaper than going and buying magnaflows and taking to a welc shop and ill still get some more decent flow.

How much is your time worth? Just sayin, - seems like your putting in an awful lot of time with this, vs just doing it correctly.

Which ways of doing this have you pondered and why not just do it right?

Two different motors,two different trucks.
Just get your cats cut and if your manifolds are leaking get some long tubes for less than $300. A shop should cut your cats for less than $80 since they'll be getting more than that off the cats alone

The 04-08 4.6 were 2v in the f-150 until 09. They went to 3v in 2010.

Your correct about the 4six 2V's. As long as it's a 2valve V8 your alright. The exhaust ports are different for the 3v's. The 04+ 2V's are only different from the intake up. I didn'know they went to 09 like JCR suggests. Yea, -not sure when they broomed the 4six 2V. I bet he's right!

The height of the block is a bit different obviously. So headers from a 5.4 will be higher than the midpipe fitting on a 4.6

Exhaust under the truck is completely different lengths than a 10th gen due to it having different frame widths and frame rails.
