Why change oil? These Tritons use so much....and it's "acceptable"!

This is not as big of a deal on modular motors as you think. When these engines use it it's not the same as "burning" out the tail pipe.

Lucas oil stabilizer will help this if it's just worrying you to death. I use it and mine don't use any when I do.

As far as your original question yes....just keep a clean filter and keep adding to it.

It's loses not looses...I have a 94 Mustang with 151,000 miles on it & it doesn't burn ANY oil in 3,000 miles & 1/2 qt. up to 6,000 miles. My F150 with a 5.4 burns no oil in 6,000 miles nor does my wifes Sable with 135,000 miles on it! I know some might but I can't stand that. Just like I won't let it leak oil from any gasket no matter how old it is.

Yep new something did not look correct with looses, not sure if that is a word but could mean (not tight), seems to be a lot of variation on oil usage.

My 97 with 138,000 doesn't burm any oil at all nor does it leak. I use 20w-50 in the summer heat and 10-30 in the winter. I also do a full kerosene flush when going from the heavy to the light stuff

My truck is a 4.2 so it does not use any oil.
My Crown Vic V8 does use about one quart every 1000 miles.
I change the oil every 6000 miles since I add so much oil. I agree with your point about constantly changing oil, I just split the difference.
I actually know people that have NEVER changed the oil on their big Ford engines which are in perfect shape and they have really high mileage and they just kept adding oil, but I'm not that brave.
