Default whining noise from front end

I have a 2001 Supercrew Lariat, 5.4, 4wd, 129,000 miles, runs great. After long drives on the Interstate, there is a whine/squeal from the front end that is not related to engine speed, transmission in drive or neutral, steering, direction of steering, or brakes. It sounds like a bushing or boot rubbing against a wheel, since the noise varies by speed of wheel rotation, not anything else. It won't make the noise after short runs, so the dealer, who is pretty good, can't find it.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much.

What about the possibility of the inner grease seals being dry and causing the noise. I know its a pain but pull the rotors off and just wipe them with a little grease. You seem to have eliminated other areas and believe its a rotation issue but not a brake drag. Good luck!

Thanks, Bill. That seems to make sense. I've experimented with lots of other ideas, and I'll try that.
