Never had the oportunity to own one yet but yes, the coils sit on top of the plugs. Someone else will say Hi and fill you in on the entire picture.

Your truck has coil on plug. There is a 7mm bolt holding each coil down. the coils are under the fuel rail. Some people remove the fuel rail, personally I don't. Takes about 3 hours to change all the plugs. Pull the coil and stick your 5/8 spark plug socket down the hole and you will find the plug.. The torque on the plug is 13ftlbs. DO NOT exceed this. Do not go below that.

Make sure you change them out when the engine is DEAD COLD. Like after sitting over night. Plenty of stripped threads have come from changing the plugs in a warm or hot Modular Engine. I also bought a swivel 7mm socket to use on my Lightning. It helped out alittle. Still a pain in the rear job.
