Default Lowering Questions. Help!!!

Im looking to Lower my 2003 Ext Cab, Im not super familuar with this process so Im wondering what would be the best drop to be lowered but yet haul a load every once in awhile. Ill all stock so nothing else plays factor. Ive read that you need springs or spindles for the front, and leafs or shakle and hangers for the rear. i dont have the biggest budget but I want to know what you guys are running. Also I read spindles would be best for front to keep comfort and stockness but also need +18 inch wheels. I was planning on lowering then wheels. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

BTW I found these on Craigslist. How do they sound?

7 months old and were on my f150 supercrew for 4 months,I also have 3 inch coils for the front. (Belltech) $65.00

They should fit even tho his was a crew cab right?

Thanks in advance

Best thing is not to lower it. If you still want to be able to haul stuff with it lowering it will reduce the payload and towing capacity.

I really dont tow anything, but on occasion I put stuff in the bed. Wood supplies lately for a fence, or moving furniture. Nothing super heavy all the time. Im empty probably 80-90% of the time.

Before I woke up one morning and SAW THE LIGHT I owned a mini-truck. Im talking 2 1/2 to 3 inches off the ground. IT SUCKED. The ride sucked. I did it the right way, even had the back C-notched for a bigger drop. My advice to you is to EITHER, Leave it alone or Raise it. I like the look of lowered trucks but there about as useful as a horse with a broke leg. The only way to lower a truck and get a BETTER or GOOD ride is to BAG IT. Your looking at 2,000 to 3.000 to do that though.

Wow that last post sucks... ... Kinda like the part on Roger Rabit where you thought is was Jessica Rabbit and it was the ugly cartoon look alike.. Anyways, I wasnt looking to drop it that much just a basic. maybe 3/4 ,a bit lower the stock but not slammed.. Ride will still suck you think? Level would be 0/2 right? So 2 more in the rear (something about that doesnt sound right) wouldnt be too bad right? Or Wrong? Thanks for the input tho. Im just keeping options open.

YES LOWERING i want to lower my truck as well but no one on the forum knows anything about it... just know that your not the only one. haha i've recently bought some 20'' american racing rims and really want to lower it but have no idea what to do or how much it'll cost

btw the only reason lifting wasn't an option was that my truck is a 2wd which would be stupid to lift it w/ huge tires...so street all the way for me

Well baggin it would be great but if you are like me and money doesn't grow on trees. Doing a 0/2 is easy and your ride really doesn't suffer. 2/4 however is a little bit more involved i would go with hangers and shackles in the rear with spindles in the front. Watch your caster/camber in the front and make sure that you get some good shocks i would go with toxic or toxic active. Going any lowwer you will runn into a-arms, a c-notch, rolled wheel wells, and a flip kit at least. 0/2 is cheap around 30 to 40 bucks. The 2/4 is around 450 or so...
