wheel bearing wear with aftermarket rims
Has anybody here experienced abnormal/ premature front wheel bearing wear with aftermarket rims. I have a 2001 F150 supercrew with 20" aftermarket rims with 285/50/20 tires on it. I follow my maintenance schedule pretty closely but my front wheel bearing have been failing more frequently. both times I was in a situation where I was stranded and had to have a shop replace them (along with alot of the components that they took with them when they failed!) I figure I would have to adjust the wheel bearing maintenance schedule to preclude them failing on me like that. instead of 30,000 miles like the maintenance manual says just inspect and repack/replace them every 5,000 miles with my oil change.

Kill em all
Yes it will wear them more quickly due to the weight, the bearings are only made to engineered support the factory rim/tire size. They also factor in offset and rim width. If it is severe you might look into aftermarket hubs, expensive but over time might pay for them selves, also might have to put aftermarket brakes on with them.
