This year when we went hunting, when he got to the camp ground our trip meters only differed by like 10 miles. Mind you it was a 332.7 mile trip (looking up on Google maps).
Don't make me whoop your *** with math again lol!!

Although as shown above, today might not be the day haha

His dodge probably had the gears swapped along with tires and uncalibrated... yes it can read slower or faster... it depends on what you have installed with your uncalibrated speedo/odo...

Update on the truck, a guy I am supposed to work for hasn't called, so I called the mechanic on the driveshaft / trans issue, he did replace some seal, and asked me to clean all the oil off and take a look in a few days. Come to find out under an inch of crap, the gasket is bad on the thing that the drive shaft goes into where it connects to the trans. If I am right, all I have to do is take the drive shaft out, unbolt that thing and replace the seal right?

I figured not re-calibrating the speedo would make me better at math lol. Clearly not. 4 Ford dealerships say my speedo can't be re-calibrated.

You have to change the gear on the end of the speed sensor on the tail shaft of the transfercase. Ford racing makes the gears. You'll have to count the teeth that are on the one currently on the truck.

Your tailshaft leak is caused by a worn bushing in the transfercase. The tailshaft seal taps in from the rear. But it requires disassembly to replace the bronze bushing in the tailshaft. You'll also have to replace all the fluid in the transfer case also

That's because they will only flash up to a 265 (what came stock on FX4s)... yours can't be flashed/programed to correct the speedo, they're not gonna do the math and figure out what tooth/color gear you need to get your speedo calibrated, you need to go to somebody that knows how to do it or you need to figure out what gear you need relevant to your old one and change it out...

Red-Ford Once you have a tooth count on the stock speedo gear. Put in here and tag me. I'll give you a connect for the gear and tell you what tooth count you need.

Rather than tell you, i'll show you. its in the the tailshaft of the transfercase pointing towards the driverside. It has a 10mm bolt.

Now I'm really confused lol. Do I have to take anything off? If I do, is there a gasket / fluid I need to replace?
