to me it looks like it just has the tbars cranked and i would say 10 bills for it cause going from the pics you well either need smaller tires or a lift

truck looks good, tires are going to rub, looks like just a tbar crank, and I agree with getting the 5.4, but it looks good, I'd probably say 9-10k

Not a bad looking truck. As for the comments about the 5.4, I agree with most. Its definitely the better motor in these trucks. On the other hand, I have the 4.6 in my truck, 3.73 gears and 35's 118k miles. By no means is it a powerhouse, but I've towed all sorts of stuff (4-6k lbs) without any problems. Its a great motor if you don't plan on doing a lot of serious towing and working it on a daily basis. Besides, re-gearing to 4.10 or even 4.56's will give you that extra power if you want it. Just my $0.02

Yea, thats pretty much the way I feel. Im not going to be towing much other than a small trailer or a jet ski or small/medium boat. The 4x4 alone will supplement some power of pulling a boat out of the water(also the gears as you mentioned). I just want a nice daily driver(with some capabilities)!

Boat shouldn't be a problem, I pulled my buddies 18.5ft Reinell that weighed in about 3500lbs no problem. Came right up out the launch in 2wd. You'd be suprised the help of freeing up the intake and exhaust flow and a good custom tune on a programmer.

Meh, I wouldnt even bother with bolt ons on a 2v(4.6). A 3v(4.6 or 5.4) is a different story though. Gears or boost are really the only mods worth it for a 2v, especially in a heavy truck.

The good thing about getting a 2v(4.6) is I already have a few VERY good tunes for them that would transfer over flawlessly.

I was compensating for mileage, really the only difference between the fx4 and the xlt is the limited slip, bigger brakes, and it comes stock with ranchos. if youre lucky youll get a manual transfer case like my 03 stepside had, unfortunately my scre doesnt have that.

I guess the fact im near seattle would make a difference, everything near seattle costs a fortune.

its not lifted its definitely a torsion bar crank. even with a 3 inch body you can clear 35s.

I paid 10,000 for a 2001 with 128000 miles. the truck is in great shape. interior is super clean, everything is clean on the outside but the rockers are a lil rusty. not horrible yet. and the doors jsut got redone before he traded it in. also had new exhaust from headers back

Im looking for a 2004-2005 FX4 more than anything, but I keep seeing deals on these older models.
