Question What size is my axle?

I have a 98 F-150 4x4 with a 4.6 manual trans, the door says its an H9 axle which means its a limited slip with 3.55 gears, my limited slip is shot, the gears in it are chewed up, but the ring and pinion are fine, had to have it towed home and just got it all apart, i need a limited slip or a rebuild kit for mine but not sure what exactly i need size wise. Can anbody help me out with finding out what size it is?

the tag from the diff reads

S869B R
3L55 88 7K13

Your goin to tackle a carrier fix and dont even know what to identify the rear end as. you are brave I would take it to a qualified tech and have them fix it cause when you pull it apart it will have to be reset shimmed and backlash set.

you can use the spider gears from any old 8.8 carrier I believe. Double check the center pin diameter. I cant remember for sure but I think the truck rearends might have had a larger diameter. but the axle gears you need to know if they are 31 or 28 spline, being a truck i think they should be 31 spline and those can be had from the dealer for under $100 I believe.

It has 31 spline axles, hopefully i can get what i need soon and get it back on the road, putting gas in dad's 5.8 is killing me right now. Im going to take it to my local ford garage and see what i can come up with tomarow,
