single in dual out if you want to retain performance "I'm assuming your engine is stock or close enough to it).....dual if you want just a great sound (which you can still get out of single)

decided on a muffler?

Get true duals. 2.25 OR 2.5 inch piping.

No point in spending good money to only get single exhaust, your truck already had single exhaust before. Duals flow better, sound better and look better. I wouldn't ever spend money to put an aftermarket single on when aftermarket duals aren't much more. Get two magnaflow mufflers, two tips and custom duals bent up and it will sound awesome.

Cash, yours sounds great on that photobucket video! I'm a geezer, don't mod much, but I reckon I'm heading back toward me youth! I'm wanting an exhaust upgrade! I saw a video of that old boy on ..... oh wha' is it? Kind of long haired boy who smiles while he's talking. Anyway, he put an exhaust on an Ecoboost, said it would increase hp and mpg a bit, plus a good sound. OP, let us know wha' ye get, and post pics.

I found that video:

Old boy wastes over a minute on ads, music, etc., but I do like the exhaust results. This one actually made me want to do my '02 5.4. Maybe...

If you go true dual stick with a pipe that is no larger than the factory piping. I myself have longtubes, and full 3" from the headers back all the way to a single exit.
