Totally agree...except the Allison. In stock form there not as strong as there hyped up to be and if the tcm Sense's the littlest bit of slip it puts the trans into limp mode.

I would go a ford 5r110. There holding up in stock form with tuned 500 hp 6.4 diesels putting power through them.

And what about the transmission? And the time my truck would have to sit while it gets rebuilt?

Rebuild the tranny lol or find a new one.. It's gonna be no different than you getting a new engine and trying to figure out how to swap it in if its not a 5.4, and not to mention it you can't do a swap then there's labor in a shop.

Ya I was mainly thinking now about building a 4r100. It would be a timely ordeal which only having one vehicle to drive at the moment and no shop to myself it could be sometime before I get to it. I have the running gear but that about it at the moment. Also would have to regear unless im tucking 40s under my truck. Would be fun but around here the cops strongly frown upon it. Lol

I'd find a Lightning or SC Harley engine and stick that in there...that way you'd have reliable power with a power plant that was kind of sort of made for your truck....

Put a tuner on it, headers and an intake and hold on...
