I have the keypad built into my truck but, I have only used it when I locked the keys in the car.

The main reason I wanted one is because I am a forester. I spend a lot of time in the woods and keeping keys on me to lose out there is not on my to do list. Lol

id like it for hunting to leave the keys behind or when I go for a run it beats tossing the keys in the gas lid or behind the tire. Also one less way to get locked out

Exactly and I can leave them behind in the summer when we take the boat out. I have a fear of someone not thinking and trying to toss me the keys at the landing.

Do you have a write up on how it installs? The previous owner had some punk try to break into the truck, the key holes are jacked. I'm only able to unlock with the key fob. I'm always concerned I'll end up with a dead fob and be locked out of the truck. This would be a nice alterative.

EDIT - Nevermind, I went back a few more pages. Should be straight forward on the install.

I am sure there has been a write up of this done before but what I had to do to secure the lights and make them vibration resistant I went to the hardware store and picked up some spacers, and longer bolts. The fiberglass bar that runs across the radiator has a gap on the backside, so I just cut the spacers to fit inside the gap, and with the longer bolts I was able to mount the lights securely were they have no movement. As for the drilling I made my initial first hole on the top, even with a long drill bit or extension I found it hard to make the second hole even with the first due to the angle, so I took the drill and drilled from the bottom up. It took roughly about an hour after tinkering with it, but they look good!

Love the color matched lower valence.

Yeh it was really easy. Get in, unlock the doors, cycle the ingition ten times, then press and hold the 1/2 key until it cycles the locks. Be sure you press the lock button on your current fobs too or they will be useless.

I like the toolbox mounting idea too. My box is black so it'll camouflage well.
