Turned around and took it home. Took the fusion instead. Got some oil and a filter to do an oil change and less than a quart of oil came out of my truck!!!!

This is when I start to freak out. I am always on time and right on top of my oil changes. But the only time I can 100% remember changing the oil was in September. I am pretty sure I changed it in December, but I don't have proof.

So either I haven't changed my oil since September, my truck is burning oil, or someone messed with my truck...

My truck doesn't leak a drop, and there is no smoke in the exhaust....

I am hoping I didn't cause damage to my motor. It sounds nice and strong still.

I am just kicking myself in the nuts because I'm leaning on the fact that I may have missed an oil change...
if you miss an oil change it isn't going to go through all that oil so that wouldn't make sense.

I'd check the coolant to make sure there isn't any oil in it first off.

if that checks out okay, I'd assume either somebody messed with your truck or a seal internally went out and it started burning oil. might of been a slow leak into the cylinder(s) to where no smoke was noticeable in the exhaust.

but that's just me, go by what you think it is and just diagnose to see what's what and make sure things are as they should be.

Yea I know. So unfortunately I think I have some bigger problems going now with my truck...

The coolant looked good. The oil was a little sludgey and the oil cap was slightly milky. The oil was not milky. I think the cap had condensation on it because it's COLD and it was only running for about 5-10 minutes.

I am not eating coolant.

I doubt this is what might have happened, but maybe I didn't fill it up all the way the last oil change? IDK

There is a guy at work who hates my guts....

the milkyness on the underside of the fill cap is normal. mine gets the same way. it's just from the moisture in the crankcase not evaporating and just mixing with the oil vapors instead. if it gets fully heated up and run for a while like 20 or so minutes down the road once it's at operating temp then it won't have that.

I doubt you forgot to refill otherwise you'd have found out the hard way a lot sooner than this.

I think it's more likely that it was the guy at work tampering with it than going that long with no oil. why does he hate you so much? any particular reason?

Someone would have to take out the drain plug (have a drain pan) and drain it. Just don't seem likely.

yeah but if it's not mixing with coolant, and his truck has never burned or leaked oil before, and still didn't up until he had no oil, where else would the oil have gone?

If "if" there is no sign of a leak anywhere it must be burning it.

Probably just using it, which is perfectly okay. Burning is different story, = internal problems.

Do you write the miles down on the new filter ?

How many miles, is there any way to tell ?

Do recall purchasing 5 quarts oil to change it ? Any full quarts of oil left sitting around?

There must be some way to tell lol.

A lot of these engines use oil. According to Ford (not kidding) these engines may use up to a quart EVERY 1000 miles. This is perfectly fine.

Regardless, you should know your truck. You do change your own oil right.

Did you hit your head recently?

I guess I got lucky and got a good motor that doesn't burn any oil between changes. haha
