Changed the transfer case fluid. Easy job after you yank out the bash guard.
Used a impact with long 3/8 extension for the fill plug and made sure I put some grease on both plugs before re-installing.
Used a Penzoil fluid transfer pump in the ATF quart bottles, worked far better than the screw on style, sucked them dry. I will say it makes a mess as the (warm) fluid hits the cross member. Glad I did it over the gravel driveway and not on the pavement. Got most of it in the pan.

I've always thought, if it's going to cost money and it's going to be long term, you might as well pay for the best.

Sometimes things are just too out of your lane price wise, but you still want the best you can afford. If I couldn't afford Retrofits and I really needed brighter heads -at that moment-, I'd start with wiring a new Circuit to ensure full power to the lights then I'd go for either an LED power unit or stick with stock bulbs.

When I jump on the Retrofit party wagon, I'm only going to do it once and I'm patient enough to wait to do it the right way. Till then I'll stick with plane jane bulbs.

As for blinding other drivers, I don't want to be "that guy." I wouldn't want it done to my kid if she were driving nor would I want it to happen to me.

Cost is forgotten, the quality remains.

We don't hate HID's, quite a few of us actually love them.
We do hate illegal Plug-n-Play kits in open halogen housings that turn the world blue or purple, blinding everyone around them, all the while getting worse light output than if they had stuck with halogens.

Its not that i "cant" afford the retro kit, because i can, its the look. Im not sold on the look, just my personal preference. Almost looks to rice rocket on some. Now when the come from the factory with projectors (cant remember the year they started that on the F150's) those look jam up. If i had a dark truck, and i could black everything out and make them blend in, might be a different case. But mine is silver. And i think imma stick with the housing i have. And im not a fan of the pics ive seen with the retros in my housings.

They are not "illegal". Around where i live, SEVERAL cop cars, both marked and unmarked have them. And i disagree with the worse light output, ive had HID's before, in 3 different mustangs (All 5k 35W), and noticed a HUGE improvement, not just around me, like down the road, bright! and ive never had people flash their lights at me, or have a huge glare. Yes, some of the cheap, $50 ebay kits are ****, and the glare sucks. But a decent kit, maybe not so much.

Just because HID's are not in projector housings, does NOT make them "cheap" They make good quality kits that are not total junk. The same thing with retros, they make good quality stuff, and they make junk. And lets face it guys, we drive trucks, most are lifted is some way shape or form, the projectors, cut a line at the top of the beam, which in alot of cases is over the oncoming vehicle. Putting the bulk of the light, right into their faces any way. Ive been blinded by factory projectors before, bright lights are bright lights. And yes, the same applies to factory lights too.

And again, IM NOT 100% GOING TO PUT HIDS IN MY TRUCK! It was just a thought. And im NOT taking anything away from anything anybody has done to their truck. If your thing is projectors, by all means go for it.

Last time I checked, your state was in the USA, and any PnP HID kit is illegal.
All HID bulbs placed in open halogen housings will glare and have worse output than a halogen bulb in a halogen socket.
I don't argue about this, just give some facts. Glad your not planning on putting them in yours.
